D8, for work that

travels with you

Remote income presented the way the consulate wants it, translations included.

Who this is for

Income earned outside Portugal, provable on paper

The threshold moves with the Portuguese minimum wage, so we confirm the current figure for your application month rather than quoting a stale one.

Monthly remote income at or above four times the Portuguese minimum wage, averaged across the last three months, EUR 3,680 a month in 2026, and it moves every January when the minimum wage is set
Proof of remote employment, or freelance and client contracts if you work for yourself
Income earned from outside Portugal, with bank statements that match your contracts
A clean criminal record certificate, apostilled or consular-legalised
