These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern both your access to and use of the website at https://e-expat.com ("Website") and the relocation services offered through it. They are operated by JASMINELOFT - UNIPESSOAL LDA, trading as e-expat ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing the Website or purchasing any service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms in full. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Website immediately. The Website and Services are intended for users who are at least 18 years of age.

JASMINELOFT - UNIPESSOAL LDA operates as a relocation service intermediary. We are not a bank, law firm, accounting firm, immigration lawyer, tax advisor, or investment advisor. Our services are administrative and facilitative in nature. We do not provide licensed legal, tax, or financial advice. For matters requiring such advice, the Client is responsible for engaging a separately contracted licensed professional. We offer the following relocation and settlement services to individuals relocating to Portugal:
NIF registration (AT), NISS registration (Segurança Social).
Assistance with opening a personal Portuguese bank account.
Visa application assistance (D7, D8, and others), residence permit support.
Property search, rental assistance, coordination with landlords and agencies.
Identification of suitable schools, assistance with enrolment.
Arrangement and advisory for health, personal, and property insurance.
The Client agrees to fulfil the following obligations. The Service Provider accepts no liability for delays, failures, or adverse outcomes arising from the Client's failure to comply.
Provide accurate, complete, truthful, and up-to-date information and documents.
Respond promptly to requests for additional information or documentation.
Notify us immediately of any changes in circumstances affecting the Services.
Ensure all documents submitted are genuine, legally obtained, and unaltered.
Attend any required appointments (in-person or virtual) as advised.
Comply with all applicable laws and requirements of relevant Third-Party Authorities.
We may require identity verification before commencing certain services, including submission of a valid passport or government-issued ID and biometric or document checks. Services will not commence where verification fails. No refund will be issued where verification reveals fraudulent, forged, or misrepresented documentation.
You may use the Website for lawful purposes only. You agree not to:
Violate any applicable local, national, or EU law or regulation.
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Website or its systems.
Transmit spam, malware, viruses, or harmful code.
Scrape, copy, or redistribute Website content without our prior written consent.
Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation.
Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access or interact with the Website.
Attempt to reverse-engineer any software underlying the Website.
Where the Website allows you to create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and all activity under your account. Please notify us immediately at legal@e-expat.com if you become aware of any unauthorised use. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts where there is evidence of breach of these Terms, misuse, or fraudulent activity.
Fees are as set out on the Website or in any service quotation provided, stated in Euros (EUR) and inclusive of Portuguese VAT (IVA) where applicable. Full payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed in writing. Services will not commence until payment is confirmed. We reserve the right to update fees at any time; changes will be communicated before they apply to any existing order.
Refunds are determined based on the stage at which cancellation occurs. A full refund is issued where cancellation occurs within 24 hours of placing an order and before any work has commenced, regardless of the stage below. No refund will be issued where: the service has been fully or partially delivered; a Third-Party Authority rejected the application due to Client error or incomplete documentation; the Client failed to attend a required appointment; or services were terminated due to fraudulent documentation. All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to legal@e-expat.com. Refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 15 business days of approval.
No documents submitted, no actions taken: 100% refund.
After commencement but before submission to a Third-Party Authority: 50% refund.
After submission to a Third-Party Authority, delivery of the service, or appointment scheduled: No refund.
Many services involve submission of applications to Portuguese or EU government bodies. We have no control over the decisions, timelines, or processing capacity of Third-Party Authorities. We cannot guarantee approval of any application, processing times, or any particular outcome. Estimated timeframes are indicative only. Fees for work already performed are non-refundable in the event of rejection or delay caused by a Third-Party Authority or circumstances outside our control.
All Content on the Website is the property of JASMINELOFT - UNIPESSOAL LDA or its licensors and is protected by Portuguese and European intellectual property law. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Website for personal, non-commercial purposes only. No Content may be reproduced, distributed, or used commercially without our express prior written permission.
The Website and its Content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties as to completeness, accuracy, fitness for purpose, or uninterrupted availability. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Website at any time without notice.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law: our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the total fees paid by the Client for the specific service to which the claim relates; we shall not be liable for indirect, special, incidental, punitive, or consequential loss; and we are not responsible for decisions made by Third-Party Authorities, banks, immigration offices, schools, insurers, or landlords. Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any matter that cannot be excluded under Portuguese or EU law.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless JASMINELOFT - UNIPESSOAL LDA, its officers, employees, and agents from and against any loss, damage, liability, claim, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with: your use of the Website; your breach of these Terms; false, incomplete, or fraudulent information or documents provided by you; or your violation of any applicable law.
Both Parties agree to keep confidential all non-public information received from the other during the service relationship and not to disclose it to any third party without prior written consent, except as required by law or to perform the services. This obligation survives termination for two (2) years.
Neither Party shall be liable for failure or delay in performing obligations due to circumstances beyond their reasonable control, including acts of government, changes in law, pandemic restrictions, natural disasters, or cyberattacks. The affected Party must notify the other in writing within 10 days. If the force majeure persists for more than 60 days, either Party may terminate the Agreement on written notice, and we will refund fees paid for services not yet commenced.
If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, please contact us at legal@e-expat.com. We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 working days and aim to resolve it within 30 days. You may also use the EU's online dispute resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
The Website may contain links to third-party websites for convenience only. We have no control over third-party content and accept no responsibility for it. You access third-party websites at your own risk.
Your use of the Website and Services is governed by our Privacy & Cookie Policy, available at https://e-expat.com/privacy-policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
These Terms remain in force from the Starting Date until completion or termination of all services. Either Party may terminate by providing 30 days' written notice, subject to payment of all fees for services already rendered or commenced. We may terminate with immediate effect if the Client provides fraudulent documentation, breaches any material obligation, or fails to make payment.
We may revise these Terms at any time. The version in force at the time you place an order governs that order. Updated Terms will be published on the Website with the date of revision. Your continued use of the Website constitutes acceptance of updated Terms. If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Any disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lisbon, without prejudice to your mandatory consumer protection rights under EU law.
