Welcome to e-Expat. These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of our website and services. By using e-Expat you agree to these terms.

1. Service overview

e-Expat helps non-residents apply for Portuguese administrative services (NIF, NISS, banking, residency, and related procedures) through an online interface. We act as your authorised representative before Portuguese authorities once you have signed the relevant power-of-attorney documents.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account.

3. Fees and payment

Fees are shown in EUR on each service page and charged up-front via Stripe. We may charge additional government fees passed through at cost — these are disclosed before payment.

4. Refunds

Where work has not yet started, we will refund the service fee minus payment-processing costs. Once your application has been submitted to the Portuguese authorities, fees are non-refundable.

5. Your responsibilities

• Provide accurate, complete, and timely information.
• Upload only documents that you are legally entitled to share with us.
• Cooperate with reasonable requests from our team or the Portuguese authorities.

6. Limitation of liability

We are not liable for delays caused by Portuguese authorities, third-party banks, postal services, or factors outside our control. Our total liability is capped at the fees you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

7. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account for breach of these terms or fraudulent activity.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Disputes will be resolved by the courts of Lisbon.
